Upside Down in the Middle of Nowhere is one of my favorite books this year, and every criteria in it was very distinguished. I am so glad that one of the first books I picked out was this good! Lamana was able to develop each of her characters so that they all either became stronger or they showed strength that they didn’t know that they had. ![]() And somewhere in that beautiful book, Ms. Lamana was able to teach the reader life lessons and entertain them at the same time(a pretty remarkable feat!)and I applaud her for that. She takes each subject and shows the damage it can do and the pain it can cause, and then she shows people who rise from those situations and become better people in the process. Lamana talks about these subjects is very real, but also very beautiful. She discusses modern-day racial discrimination, death, and the living conditions of natural disaster refugees. ![]() Lamana was also able to inform the reader of several subjects not often addressed in books. The writing style is well suited to the plot, and it is very detailed without being too confusing. ![]() Upside Down in the Middle of Nowhere is a wonderfully written book. ![]() Umberto eco numero zero pdf6/28/2023 ![]() ![]() Covering world events from just after World War II to the explosion of extreme domestic terrorism which rocked Italian society in the early 1970s, the book is pitches at a darkly ironic satirical tone with the focus of its barbs primarily directed toward the influence of the tabloid press which increased significantly over that same period. Like Eco's more familiar novels, however, Numero Zero does contain a narrative that is driven by conspiracy theories and historical fact. Unlike Eco’s most famous novels The Name of the Rose and Foucault’s Pendulum, Numero Zero is short and relatively fast-paced with its less than 200 pages stripped of long and intricate digressions and the dense historical background and language games which characterizes the author’s previous fiction. ![]() Numero Zero is Umberto Eco’s seventh novel and final novel published before his death in 2016. I mean, I think a lot of the people who have been some of the most adoring supporters of his in Congress, in the Senate, Lindsey Graham, Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, will privately show a great deal of contempt for him. I mean, I think what's interesting is that the people who have been his biggest enablers, who have just been completely submissive to him throughout the last four years, who have supported him every step of the way privately have great ambivalence about him, to say the least.
